Excellent hotel and great location. Plenty to do for all. The Barcelo Aquamarina hotel is very clean and maintained. The staff are lovely and very helpful and ensuring your holiday stay is enjoyable. The rooms are ok, could be slightly bigger but has all you need. The restraunt is fantastic with a good range of breakfast to please all. lunch and dinner had a wide range of different foods to enjoy. I won't mention the pudding except with one word, outstanding. Would definitely book again. I would recommend this hotel to anybody whating to stop in the Cala d' Dor area

We chose to stay at Barcelo Aguamarina after having a great experience at another Barcelo hotel, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this one. While the hotel tries to cater to a wide range of guests, in doing so, it seems to fall short for some, especially when it comes to dietary needs. One member of our group has coeliac disease, and we encountered significant issues with the food service, particularly the lack of clear labelling for allergens and dietary requirements. Although we were told to ask for an allergen book, the staff would simply direct us to speak to a chef. The head chef was accommodating when available, but it was difficult to get their attention during busy times. Finding someone to assist with gluten-free breakfast options was also challenging, leaving them with a very limited selection of food to eat. It’s worth mentioning that hotels with lower star ratings have things labelled well. It really ruined the holiday to an extent as you can’t just help yourself and who wants to every day for every meal flag someone down to ask what they can eat. All it would take it labelling of each dish and them showing the allergen sign for what it contains that way they could then help themselves. Others who were vegan had the exact same issue. They want to go about eating as normal. Other hotels of this brand do this and it shocked me that they didn’t. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress, I was actually relieved to get home so I could cook Another issue was the sunbeds in the adults-only section. Most days, it was nearly impossible to find an available bed due to people reserving them with towels, despite not actually using them. We often had to sit by the family pool, which was much noisier, and even then, the sunbeds were placed too close together. On top of this, the adults-only pool had children swimming in it. They also charge a €10 deposit for beach towels, something I’ve not experienced elsewhere. Some areas of the hotel are in need of renovation. The corridor on the 1st floor has a hole that looks like it leaks, there’s marks on the walls that need looking at , and the air conditioning in the reception and communal areas either needs improvement or should be added. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and the hotel is reasonably priced. The room was lovely . There’s a Spar shop nearby, but I recommend walking 20 minutes to the Mercadona for better prices and a wider selection. Also, there’s a great bar around the corner called Papaya that we’d recommend visiting. The resort itself is very family friendly and we’d return there just not to this hotel

We went with my partner's mother visiting from Australia so had two rooms in this amazing hotel. We travel as a couple hugely and out of the 100+plus hotels we have stayed in, this hotel was an a absolute find! The staff are what make this hotel different - they are all friendly and cannot do enough for you and always said hello when you were passing. The rooms are nicely laid out and have proper working air conditioning that you can have on full but doesn't keep you awake - comfy beds and a cleaning regime that is second to none. The views from the sea view rooms are spectacular (see pictures) and the nightly entertainment is well worth attending. This is the fourth different Barcelo hotel we have been to and is a highlight in the group. The "Magical" restaurant is aptly named, with amazing food, superb service from service staff that spoke to you, once you identified yourself as wanting to talk, in such a friendly tone that it was like dining with friends! The hotel is beautifully laid out and is located at the quiet end of Cala D'Or, which is a pleasant resort with a number of small coves and beaches. The hotel is at the side of one of these beaches - a calm family friendly beach and slowly sloping - probably about 3m deep right to 600m out towards the sea - which is relatively quiet and always has a few spare umbrellas and chairs if you want to be on the beach. The hotel's Pool is right next to the beach via some steps and has a large terrace where there appeared to be sufficient sun loungers for anyone who wanted to be on the terrace. Fresh water showers were available to use when coming from the pool or the beach. Food at the hotel - we were on a half board package - was buffet style but with chefs available to cook special requirements and was of very high quality and opening times were long enough to avoid lengthy queues. A nice touch is that Cava and wines are served by waiters / waitresses at every meal and there appeared to be no limit to refills (though I think abuse would probably not be welcomed). Great selection of food for vegans / meat lovers and always a massive array of fresh fruit available. My Partner's mum needed a bath every day (she is 82 and doesn't like showers, so we upgraded to the deluxe rooms as the website and the receptionist who booked our visit, said that the deluxe rooms had a bath. When we booked into the rooms, we found that a recent refurbishment had removed the bath. They say that the test of a good staff regime and training is not necessarily when everything goes smoothly (although certainly ALL staff are friendly and dilligent) but comes to light when there are problems. Barcelo have certainly got this right! We complained that we needed a bath and it turns out the website was wrong as there were NO baths in the hotel. The assistant manager, Carla Mosquera - a very special lady- stepped in and explained it was their error and the website would be updated. She offered us two nights of meals in the Magical

This hotel is genuinely the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. I booked a 4 night trip having read reviews I was satisfied I had made a good choice with lots of reviews saying it was clean. I will attach pictures of my experience. The sunbeds were never cleaned once, there was dirty cups, plates and food left out for days. As the hotel is located near a beach the floor was covered in sand, but mixed with water this turned into mud. there was hair stuck in drains around the pool. We went out most days because of how filthy the pool area was. The rooms were clean, however mould was growing out of the air-con unit and so we couldn't use it. The hotel is clearly very understaffed, the pool bars didn't open until 11am most days which for an all inclusive is appalling. However, the food was good, slightly repetitive but as the hotel is in a good location there are plenty of restaurants near by. And the restaurant area was clean. If you want pool towels from the hotel they take a deposit of 10 euro each on card and then charge 2 euro per towel each time you want them changed, which as a couple didn't affect us too much but if we were a family this would quickly add up. Also, the deposit is given back in cash which again as we were a couple this was only 20 euro, but as we were leaving the country in a matter of hours we didn't really have time to spend it. IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE HIRING A CAR - we hired a car for our stay, we chose to park in the hotel for convenience this was 18 euro per day. (expensive but we expected this). we were charged a 20 euro deposit for the key to the car park space on card, and again given this back in cash. Throughout our stay there were people just leaving their hire cars outside the hotel without paying for a car park space, all the hotel did to police this was just putting notes on the car politely asking them to move. I Wish we had known this because we payed a lot of money to park in exactly the same place where people were leaving their cars for free. Overall, this hotel was clearly understaffed which is why the hotel is so dirty. For a 4 star hotel you don't expect to be charged for towels and the level of service we got was similar to a 3 star. when we left we had 40 euros in cash this would be even more if you were a family, which again you don't expect from a 4 star. the queue at reception was always long and took ages to speak to anyone again clearly because they were understaffed. Do not stay here if you are looking for a relaxing poolside holiday.

We arrived at 11pm and were warmly greeted at reception. We checked in and were given our room cards and told where the restaurant and bar were and an information leaflet all about the hotel. We were able to get a snack as well, which was great as we had been travelling for a while. We were holidaying with some friends so we waited for them to arrive. The room we booked was a lateral sea view and even though it was dark, we could see the view would be amazing. When our friends arrived, they were checked in by a different receptionist. She was not very friendly and looked like she wanted to be anywhere but behind that desk! She actually 'shushed' us at one point as we were talking! Most of the other staff we encountered were happy, friendly and polite and would always stop and have a chat. A big shout out to Manu, who works very hard in the bar and Andreas, entertainment manager. They are a credit to the hotel. The beach and sea are beautiful and there is easy access from the pool area. The pools are very warm but the seaview one loses sun by around 3pm. The hotel is close to the shops.and Marina, which is great for a bit of shopping or a nice evening stroll. The food is good, plenty of variety, especially at breakfast. There are a few tiny niggles with the hotel - I don't think they should charge €2 each time you change your pool towel when you are all inclusive. I think stopping all-inclusive drinks at 11pm, whilst the bar is open till 12 is not good either, if you've paid for all-inclusive, then you shouldn't have to pay for drinks after a certain time. There are also quite a few drinks not included in the menu unless you are all inclusive plus. The cleaning staff do an excellent job around the hotel, the place is spotless, especially in the room. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and we would come back. Thank you to everyone who made it special.

Very clean and good hotel with big rooms and a balcony. I traveled here alone and felt very safe during my stay. The breakfast and dinner were outstanding! There was so much food and a lot of variety; it was delicious and fresh. The view from the dining area was beautiful. There are only two things I can complain about: the elevators were terrible, and for a few days, one-third of them were not working. The other issue was that the water didn't work in my room one night, so I wasn't able to take a shower. Other than that, everything was amazing. I will definitely try to book again for next summer. Thank you!☀️

10 of us. Check in superb. Thorough, efficient and quick. All inclusive great. Massive amount of choice on drinks. Food in restaurant had a huge amount of choice. You would be very hard pressed to say there isnt or extremely fussy. Yes there was the odd dirty mark on a plate, so dont take that one. Sometimes restaurant could be very hot though! Buffet by pool always well stocked as well. Staff were excellent throughout. Bar staff superb always busy, always quick on service. Animation team kept us going all week, loads of games, loads to do. Carlos, Mikey, Andreas and the other guys and girls were fantastic. Always encouraging people to take part which is tough enough sometimes. All in all, a really top class holiday we all had. Thank you

Five stars all around! After seeing only a small proportion of reviews, my partner and I were reluctant to booking this holiday, but upon arrival to this beautiful hotel, right through to our departure, our visit to Barceló Aguamarina was impeccable. All staff were extremely friendly, from our arrival at reception, to the cleaners, the bar staff, entertainment team, and even the life guards. Everyone always had a smile on their face which made you feel welcome. We were delighted to see how clean this place is! Not only was our room kept clean and well presented, the poolsides, restaurants, bars, and all other areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness. The views from this hotel are absolutely breath-taking and the little private beach is beautiful to say the least! We explored the area surrounding this hotel every day, and we were amazed every time. 15 minute walk to the marina which is a must see, and only 10 minutes to the centre of Cala D’Or, where the streets are full of restaurants and bars - fantastic atmosphere for all! The food in this hotel was lovely. Quick and friendly service everyday, however, the only criticism we had was the options available. We felt there wasn’t much choice for food on a night, and the desserts were very limited, but we only spent 4 nights eating in the restaurant, so can’t really complain. Overall, we absolutely loved our visit to this hotel, and enjoyed the whole experience. We definitely recommend!!! Especially for couples.
